COVID 19 - Not to be Scared but Increase your Immunity

The Coronavirus, which had increased in abroad, is now increasing in India, the health department said that the new four Omicron breeds of the Corona Virus have also detected. We hear through the News Channel that the number of cases in state also has increased and few have lost their lives. When we listen to such news it is natural that we get scared about the COVID virus, especially at those houses who have a neonatal or where aged and sick people live or the asthma patients or one with low oxygen problem since we have seen lock down in first stage of COVID and many deaths in second stage of COVID.
Its natural to get scared but these corona omicron new species will keep developing and not only this further many other such viruses can arrive. So its important to increase our immunity to get strong rather then getting scared or waiting for the vaccination. Once our immunity is increased our body can handle any type of virus.
We should learn how to get immunised. Immunity is not vaccination which we can get in a dose, its a follow up of good routine in our life. Routine in means of activity and even food. In Ayurveda we call it as ‘DINACHARYA’ which means follow up of healthy regimen on daily basis to keep our immunity strong and to get rid of diseases. This daily regimen includes food and lifestyle.
Knowing about lifestyle daily regimen, there are many things to be known and followed on daily basis. Here are few tips to follow in food & lifestyle to attain good health and immune:
Wake up on or before sunrise
Physical activity in the morning is the best way to keep up our metabolism
Avoid morning coffee/ tea/ rusk/ bread/ biscuits
Have a glass of coriander seeds water or cumin seeds water in the empty stomach
Complete breakfast by 8.30 am
Make sure you don’t munch in-between till lunch
Complete your lunch by 1.30 pm
Avoid day sleeping
Avoid junk or snacks
Eat seasonal fruits in the evening
Have your dinner before 7.30 pm
Most important is sleep within 9.30 pm
If you are following everything but not sleeping before 9.30 pm then it will not have any benefit. Make sure you have proper 5-7 hrs of night sleep. Day sleep (i.e sleeping after 6 am and before 6 pm) is fatal to all our organs, as it lowers metabolism and immunity.
When we talk about food, ‘WE ARE WHAT WE EAT’, Food can build us and at the same time food can destroy us. We need to eat to live but era has become live to eat, which is dangerous and can be called as epidemic also, where people follow trend to cook and eat. Please remember ‘FOOD IS NOT AN ART, IT IS AN SCIENCE’. You should know the science of food before cooking and eating to have a healthy life. There are so many good foods to enhance our immunity. It is important to know when, how, what and why to take food. People know healthy foods but they do know these answers.
Let me explain with an example: Milkshake.
Every knows that milk Ian whole food and fruit is an nutritious food right? Yes of course its correct!
People with this fact they create an food art with name of custard or milk shake or fruit jelly and so on. Do you know the science behind mixing? Food mixing science can only be learnt in Ayurveda and this Vedic science speaks about this as an harmful food. Yes, mixing milk and fruits is an incompatible food and it can create diseases and acts as slow poison. Not only this there are so many incompatible foods which has to be known and followed.
Let me tell you another example: Many people drink honey and lemon juice with hot water in empty stomach. Do you know at empty stomach we should not take sour and also honey should not be heated nor added to hot or warm foods and also honey is not recommended in empty stomach. One trendy drink and so many slow poisonous act to the body!!
We should know what we eat and what we are doing and how it acts on our senses and body. Our immunity depends on this. So following a good daily regimen can definitely increases our immunity and in turn a good health and also creates good antibodies to fight against COVID virus or any other types of virus or bacteria.
Here's a simple diet to enhance immunity -
Hippali Rasam:

Required Ingredients:
Ghee - 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves - 5
Garlic - 3 cloves (Optional)
Ginger - little
Tamarind Juice - 1/4 tsp
Hippali Powder - 1/4 tsp
Saindava Salt - for taste
Jaggery powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander Leaves or Dry Neem Flower Powder - 1/4 tsp
Water - 250 ml
Method of Preparation:
Add the ghee in a kadai for seasoning and add the mustard, cumin garlic, ginger and curry leaves to it. Then add water and when it boils, add salt, jaggery powder, tamarind juice, hippali powder, and boil for three minutes. Off the flame and add coriander or dry neem flower. This can be eaten with rice or can be consumed as a soup. Drinking a glass of soup three days a week will eliminate the indigestion problem. This also increases the immunity of our body.
